David Vincent Rasa MD RPH Healthcare Scholarship Fund
The goal of the David Vincent Rasa MD RPH Healthcare Scholarship Fund is educational giving for college-bound high school seniors pursuing a degree and career in the healthcare industries.
College scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors of either Wayne Valley High School, Wayne Hills High School, and Passaic County Technical Institute who intend to pursue a college degree with focus of study on any of the health sciences, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, public health, nursing, healthcare management and/or administration, or any other degree that is intended to support the applicant’s expressed objective to pursue a career in any healthcare field.
In 2025, grants were awarded to the following high schools for scholarships: Passaic County Technical Institute, Wayne Valley High School, and Wayne Hills.
Passaic County Technical Institute

The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation’s David Vincent Rasa MD RPH Healthcare Scholarship Fund awarded a grant to Passaic County Technical Institute for a scholarship. Congratulations to 2026 graduate, Gianna Alloy, on being presented a scholarship of $1,500 to attend Fordham University. During high school, Gianna assumed leadership positions as Historian with the National Honor Society Historian, Secretary with Rho Kappa Honor Society, and Class Liaison with Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA).
She was also involved with several organizations, including HOSA, where she competed three years in the regional competitions; Student Council; End Racism and Sexism Everywhere; Upstanders, working one-on-one with freshmen struggling to adjust to high school; World Language Honor Society; Rho Kappa Honor Society; and National Honor Society.
Among her activities, she was a member of the school’s softball and basketball teams. Gianna was also recognized as a Girls’ State delegate. Among her extracurricular activities, she volunteered at Chilton Hospital, and she participated in multiple service activities/events through HOSA and Student Council.
Wayne Valley High School
This Scholarship Fund awarded a grant of $1,500 to Wayne Valley High School for a scholarship. Congratulations to Alya Homsy on receiving a scholarship to attend Seton Hall University to pursue studies in biology on a 4+3 BS/MD track.
Throughout high school, she demonstrated an interest in medicine by volunteering at Hackensack Meridian Health Center and shadowing an OB-GYN doctor. She participated in a range of extracurricular activities, including playing volleyball, participating with the student dance association, playing the piano with the jazz band, and playing the clarinet with the symphonic band. After receiving first and second place at the Elite International Music Competition, she performed classical piano at Carnegie Hall! Among her memberships, Alya was accepted to the National Honor Society and the Tri-M Music Honors Society. She held several leadership positions with clubs, including president of the HOSA Medical Club.
Wayne Hills High School
Congratulations to Wayne Hills High School on receiving a 2025 grant to provide a scholarship to a graduating senior. Laasya Chintala was awarded a $1,000 scholarship to attend Rutgers University, Honors College. During high school, Laasya was involved in several extracurricular activities, including National Honor Society, the Wayne Hills Tennis team, and the Wayne Hills Winter Guard. Notably, she received an AP Scholar with Distinction honor and was named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. Among her service activities, she volunteered at St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital.
