Salonette
Salonette brings neighbors together in living rooms for monthly, off-the-record conversations with the local officials and community leaders who shape their lives. At a moment when civic trust is eroding and people feel increasingly disconnected from the institutions that affect them, Salonette offers something different: a small, social, face-to-face alternative to town halls and social media. These gatherings allow residents to ask real questions, hear honest answers, and feel genuinely powerful in their own communities.
Started in Montclair in 2025, Salonette is now expanding across towns and communities in NJ and nationally, reaching residents who want to stay informed, connected, and engaged in local civic life.
As the network grows, Salonette creates opportunities to connect individual groups within and across communities, enabling neighborhood conversations to scale into town-wide, regional, and statewide mobilization when the moment calls for it. Whether the issue is a local school budget, a state policy, or a national crisis landing close to home, Salonette’s network can flex and focus — bringing people together or into action as the needs and priorities of their communities evolve.
