Hackensack Environmental Justice Alliance to Meet November 18

The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation (NNJCF) invites the public to attend the next meeting of the Hackensack Environmental Justice Alliance on Monday, November 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. The meeting takes place in person at The Second Reformed Church, located at 436 Union Street in Hackensack, New Jersey 07601, and it will also be available online via Zoom.

The Hackensack Environmental Justice Alliance, a community group that focuses on helping people hit the hardest by environmental issues, provides resources for residents and people who work in the City of Hackensack to learn about strategies they can use to reduce future flooding in the area and make neighborhoods greener and healthier. During the meeting, participants share their stories about flooding in the city, provide their insights about the proposed community listening sessions planned for January, present ideas to engage more members of the community, and discuss a proposed mission statement. Updates will also be provided about different projects, including the Green Infrastructure plan, the Pathways to the River, and recent funding requests.

The public came together at the Environmental Justice Alliance’s Community Forum in Hackensack.
