The Northern NJ Community Foundation launches the COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund.

Support for the Fund comes from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, NEC Financial Services via the NEC Foundation of America, Visions Federal Credit Union, as well as individuals.  NEC Foundation of America donated to the Fund to support healthcare professionals working on the frontlines in hospitals.  With this donation, the Fund awarded initial grants to: Englewood Hospital (Englewood Health Foundation), Hackensack University Medical Center Foundation, Holy Name Medical Center Foundation, and The Valley Hospital Foundation.

“Upon joining the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation as the pandemic crisis was unfolding, I saw the opportunity for the NNJCF to assume a leadership role in addressing the local impact of this virus. It is gratifying to see the community come together and raise so much in a short period. As the virus spreads, we see residents’ needs and the organizations serving them continue to grow. These funds help local nonprofit organizations working in our backyards.  They also support our neighbors through this crisis,” said Mary Blanusa, Executive Director of the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation.
