Donations support the fund’s mission to award scholarships and grants that honor Ralph’s qualities of kindness, affability, generosity, and compassion.

Celeste Garzon, 2026 graduate of Leonia High School

In 2026, The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation’s Class of 1964 Ralph Gregg Memorial Scholarship Fund’s annual award was presented to Leonia High School for a scholarship to senior Celeste Garzon.  Celeste received a $2,000 scholarship and plans to attend Rutgers-The State University of New Jersey’s School of Environmental and Biological Sciences and pursue a pre-law science major.

During high school, she was involved with several organizations, including Girl Up, Black Student Union, Women in Business, DECA/MBLA, National Honors Society, and Business Honors Society. Among her volunteer activities, Celeste served as a counselor in training at Wood Park Summer Camp, participated in Leonia Sports Boosters Events, and the Leonia Recreation Center. This all around student was also a member of the Leonia Travel Girls Basketball as a trainer, Palisades Park Little League, Leonia Lions Basketball Shootathon, Girls Varsity Soccer, Varsity Basketball, Varsity Softball, and Varsity Flag Football.
