Collaboration helps strengthen our communities. Northern New Jersey Community Foundation (NNJCF) President and Co-Founder Michael Shannon and Executive Director Leonardo Vazquez were guests on a recent episode of the popular radio show and podcast ‘Let Go and Let God’. In this inspiring conversation, We Are Never Alone, they discussed NNJCF’s extensive mission. Furthermore, they described the Foundation’s impact and how collaboration helps strengthen our communities.

Collaboration: Working Together in North Jersey
Since 1998, the NNJCF has created, implemented and supported initiatives, as well as projects in North Jersey. The Foundation focuses on three critical areas in the community. These include working to grow creative and inspiring places, greener and healthier places, and also more places of belonging and opportunity.
The NNJCF works with local governments, school districts, businesses, non-profit organizations, and also citizen groups in Northern New Jersey to improve community life. The Foundation’s partners identify and also resolve regional problems and opportunities by talking and learning from each other. In addition, they share ideas, best practices, services, and resources. Through collaboration, the NNJCF provides leadership on a range of topics.
The Foundation helps residents address critical issues affecting their communities. Through its creative placemaking initiatives, the NNJCF produces many community-inspired public art works. Nonprofit organizations and also schools received grant awards of more than $1 million to support their mission in local communities.
