ARTSBERGEN ANNOUNCES A CALL FOR ARTISTS
Artists Wanted for “Live Mural Door Painting”
at the Main Music Art Brew & Fare
Submission Deadline: Tuesday, September 17, 2019
The Hackensack Creative Arts Team (CAT) of the Main Street Business Alliance is seeking muralists to participate in live mural painting at the Main Music Art Brew & Fare event at Atlantic Street Park, Hackensack, NJ, on Saturday, October 5, 2019, 3 pm – 10 pm. Five mural artists and/or artist teams will be selected to simultaneously paint murals on vintage wooden doors during the event, which will include food trucks, a beer garden, and music.
PROJECT LOCATION AND SCOPE OF WORK
On October 5, 2019, murals will be painted at the Main Music Art Brew & Fare event at Atlantic Street Park in Hackensack, on vintage, unprimed, wooden doors which will be propped up for painting. Door dimensions are 28” x 84”. A total of 5 artists/artist teams will be selected. Each artist/artist team will be assigned one door to paint starting at 4 pm. Work must be finished by 9 pm. Doors may be sold or publicly displayed in the future.
- Artwork must be original.
- No copyrighted images, vulgarity, nudity, advertising, political statements, profanity, violence, gang-related references and no offensive content to any age, race, or creed.
- The artwork must fill the entire space.
Artists must bring their own supplies including paint, brushes, drop cloth, containers for mixing paint, etc. All paints are acceptable including spray paint, aerosol, latex, house paint, acrylic, markers, ink, poster paint etc. Artists must bring tables, chairs, and a step ladder or other way of reaching the top of door. No electricity or water will be available.
Each selected artist/artist team will receive $375.00. This fee includes the cost of all supplies.
ArtsBergen is collecting submissions of interested applicants. Artists must be at least 18 years of age to apply and have prior mural experience. Artists will be selected based on creativity of design, experience, and artistic excellence.

Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Artists will be notified only if his/her design is selected.

USE OF WORK:
By applying, artists agree that The Main Street Business Alliance and ArtsBergen have the right to display, copy, distribute and use images of the artwork for promotional purposes without any form of compensation. Credit will be given where possible.
