Montclair Bridge Fund
When a community says yes to strong schools, families with the least shouldn’t bear the heaviest load. The Montclair Bridge Fund brings neighbors together to keep classrooms thriving and protect the socioeconomic diversity that makes Montclair home. If the upcoming referendum passes, we’ll ease the newly created hardship for lower-income households. If it doesn’t, your gift will support Montclair Public Schools through Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE)—either way, your generosity helps Montclair’s kids. Our goal is to raise $570,000 to support 500+ Montclair households who may struggle with the increased costs. Every dollar helps keep a child in a thriving classroom and a family thriving in their home.
How it works (fair, fast, local):
- Yes-activated relief: If the referendum passes, direct payments begin. If it fails, funds go to MFEE for our schools
- $500 = support for one Montclair household in need
- Equitable access: Aid is first-come, first-served with a clear deadline and simple application
- Simple eligibility: Residents qualify by enrollment in a public program (e.g., NJ SNAP, LIHEAP, etc.)
- One community: No distinction between homeowners and renters (who may experience pass-through increases)—need is need
