The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation’s Andrea Tilbian Halejian Memorial Fund awarded a grant of $13,500 to the Armenian International Medical Fund (AIM Fund). The grant supports the Glendale, California organization’s program to provide children and young adults with cochlear implants in the Caucasus region in Europe.
The NNJCF’s Andrea Tilbian Halejian Memorial Fund remembers the late Andrea Tilbian Halejian of Wyckoff, New Jersey and contributes to qualified charitable organizations and interests she supported. In addition to the grant for cochlear implants to AIM, the fund has made awards to other organizations. These include the Fund for Armenian Relief, Armenian Relief Society of Eastern USA, the Center for Peace, Justice & Reconciliation (PJR) at Bergen Community College, the Center for Food Action, Vitalant, Eva’s Village, Careers Through Culinary Arts, and LA Family Housing.
Andrea Tilbian Halejian, her family and many of their friends cared for Armenian efforts on local, national and international levels. The Armenian International Medical Fund, a non-profit organization, undertakes its mission to create and maintain innovative health care programs in Armenia with the intention of developing Armenia as the Regional Center in the Caucuses. Furthermore, the AIM Fund gives free hearing screenings and provides hearing aids at minimum cost. The organization also performs Cochlear Implant and Bone Anchored Hearing Aid surgeries and trains future otologists in Armenia.
