Art Unveiling in Englewood on December 17

The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation invites the public to attend the unveiling of five large-scale art collages exploring the theme of the ideal community on Monday, December 17 at 1:00 p.m..  The collages, created by senior citizens, comprise the exhibit Build A Village.  The event, hosted by the Englewood Chamber of Commerce, takes place at Palisades Court at the intersection of North Van Brunt Street and Daisy Place in Englewood, New Jersey.  Passersby may also see the exhibit on display through June 2019.

Senior citizens from Bergen County, New Jersey participated in free public art workshops to create the collages seen in the exhibit. Furthermore, professional teaching artist/muralist Dan Fenelon led the workshops, bringing together participants to explore creating a vision of community through art.

The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation's public art project, Build A Village, was created by senior citizens from Bergen County in New Jersey.

Creative Placemaking

During its 20th anniversary year, the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation asks, What can we do together that we can’t do alone?. The NNJCF is a leader in creative placemaking.  This is the practice of integrating arts and culture into the fabric of a region, town, or city block. Build a Village is the NNJCF’s ArtsBergen initiative’s latest creative placemaking project implemented in Bergen County.
